Are you a authorised travel agent?

TGTATOURS isn’t a travel agency, we are the tour organiser. We choose the hotels and organise payments. All group air fares, insurance and additional travel arrangements is booked by a licensed agent: Donna McHugh of Wauchope Travel a member of Hello Word T 02 6585 2288 donna@wauchopetravel.com.au  www.wauchopetravel.com.au

How much does a tour cost?

Each tour is costed three months out as it depends on the final negotiations and number of travellers. As a rule of thumb we base our ‘ballpark estimate’ on the previous year’s cost  and add 5%. Depending on the currency rate at the time of booking it can actually be less.  We will quote land only prices if you want to book your own flights, or you may already be in the UK and want to join the tour at the start and meet us at the hotel or airport. When we list a tour we will give a ballpark figure for a single traveller and for double/twin share. The supplements for single travellers we are noticing are getting higher every year – so good to find a travelling buddy.  – see 2015 UK Antiques itinerary – costs now posted.

What’s included in the cost?

Airfares & taxes. Driver and coach for duration of the tour – from pick-up at Heathrow to drop off at London Hotel. A full English breakfast at the hotel – that’s usually sufficient for the rest of the day with a light snack at lunchtime, until the evening meal. We often stop at quaint pubs at lunch and all events have food and drink available for snacks. All other meals, antique fair entrance fees and admission to tourist attractions etc are not included as all items are optional – nothing is compulsory.

How much is a single traveller supplement?

Each hotel is different. But we have noticed over the years the gap between double/twin occupancy and single occupancy is getting bigger… so definitely cheaper if you can find a traveling companion. See 2015 itinerary for costs.

How do we pay?

A deposit of $1500 is invoiced on confirmation of you wanting to be part of a tour. This is fully refundable if the tour doesn’t go ahead. Once we have  the numbers – we only need 10 so we have never had to cancel – then we invoice for 50% of the total cost – and the final balance  is due 6 weeks before departure. The last two payments are non-refundable so we do suggest travel insurance.

We accept cash, cheque, direct deposit, PayPal and Credit card (Visa and Master card accepted. Amex and Diners not accepted.)
Note bellow: we process credit card payments though PayPal so all credit card payments incur a 3% surcharge. In your interest the most economical payment method is through direct deposit as it incurs no extra charges.

What does TGTA stand for?

TGTA stands for The Good Thing About… we look for the positive in all our experiences. Anyone who whinges has to shout a round at the local pub.

Can we upgrade our flight?

Absolutely. Our licensed travel agent can arrange all flights or extra days in hotels, or travel insurance – or you can arrange it yourself.  Your travel agent will advise of any additional booking fees.

Do we have to fly out of Sydney?

No. We can arrange flights out of other cities. Or you can meet us in London at the airport or at the first hotel on the itinerary.

Can we arrange our own flights?

Yes. Just make sure it coincides with our arrival time. or we can meet you at the first hotel on the Tour.

What about insurance?

We advise you take full travel insurance. We can arrange it for you, of you can do it yourself.

Can you arrange any additional travel arrangements?

Yes – we have a dedicated licensed travel agent for each tour who will be happy to help. You will be dealing with the same person and we will provide full contact details.

Can we make a request to visit somewhere on the tour?

Let us know early enough and we will try and accommodate any requests – we can’t change the hotels but we can plan our days to include special requests.  England is such a small place geographically that we can usually fit in a detour or two. Same with Portugal  – where we hope to be running a tour in May 2016.
