UK ANTIQUES & COLLECTABLES TOURS

The UK Antiques & Collectables Tour is designed for a small group, under 17 travellers. That way we can use a smaller coach and explore out of the way spots and also stay in fantastic boutique hotels. Flexible and fun. Every day we will be visiting an antiques fair, country or city dealers, markets and local tourist attractions. 2016 will be our sixth tour.

A coach and personal driver for the length of the tour (excluding London) means we can take advantage of any local activity we discover when we are in the UK. Many events are not publicised on the internet until close to the departure date, if at all, but we are getting good at sniffing them out.

We stay in boutique 3 or 4 star boutique hotels. Ideally we spend three nights in each hotel so we can explore the beautiful old towns and are not constantly packing and unpacking. Most days, apart from bargain hunting, we also manage to fit in a visit to a local landmark tourist attraction – stately homes and gardens, museums, art galleries, local markets, we’ve e’ve been to a horse race meeting, football match, falconry display and an outdoor theatre.

From boot fairs in a field (paddock) to international antique fairs, and everything in between, this is a tour to stimulate the senses in a hunt for antique and collectable treasures and bargains. At the same time you will enjoy beautiful English countryside and great British hospitality. Lunches in old pubs a compulsory part of the tour. Warm beer optional.

We will be staying and visiting some of the UK’s finest old towns cities like BATH, CHESTER, NOTTINGHAM, HARROGATE, YORK, CAMBRIDGE, OXFORD and LONDON as well as experiencing the natural beauty of the Costwolds, Wales, Cheshire, Lake District, North Yorkshire and The Fens and Scotland. Or if you just want to take a day off to explore the historic towns – all the sights will be at your hotel doorstep.
